Dunlin 2

The dunlin, like other members of the subfamily Calidritinae, has a soft, twittering call, greatly different than the loud song of those sandpipers belonging to the subfamily Tringinae. Many sandpipers are solitary or roost in very small groups. In contrast, the dunlin is commonly seen in fairly large flocks. [BM] {FW}
