Cassowary
The three species of cassowary live in the rainforests of New Guinea and
in Queensland, Australia. These large, flightless birds have strong legs, large, course
plumage and a bony helmet which protects the head. Like ostrich, cassowaries have naked
necks and legs. The skin on the neck of the cassowary is colourful contrasting the black
body plumage.
