Shelduck

Shelduck

The shelduck is a common waterfowl found throughout most of Europe and in parts of Asia. It has an average length of 23 in and is coloured white, black and reddish-brown. Like mallard ducks, shelducks have metallic green feathers on their heads and necks. The common shelduck can be found near the sea or near large lakes. Shelducks feed on small water animals and seem particularly fond of snails.
