Pacific Giant Salamander
This smooth skinned salamander, with mottled pattern in brown and black, can reach lengths up to 30 cm.
This large salamander feeds on mice, snakes, insects and other salamanders. They prefer a humid, yet cool
environment near water. Southwestern British Columbia and further south along
the coast into California is their range. Giant Pacific Salamanders are unique among these voiceless creatures, as they are
known to softly yelp when caught.
