Arboreal Salamander
The arboreal salamander is a very successful climber. Using the tail, which is somewhat prehensile, as an
extra anchor, the arboreal salamander ascends. These salamander are usually grey to brown in colour with
a softer underbelly. The head is quite large to the rest of the body and the toe tips are square when
expanded. These amphibians can be found in cool, moist coast forests from California to northern
Mexico.
