Amphiuma 2
This amphibian is found in the south-eastern United States and can live its
life on both land and in water. The external gills of the juveniles are often replaced by lungs in the
adults. The amphiuma lacks eyelids and has extremely poor vision indicating that it is a primitive
amphibian.
