These soft bodied insects have long, flattened bodies. The body is neatly covered by heavily veined, membranous wings. As larvae they live in the water and are an important source of food for fish. When they reach maturity they climb out of the water and molt. Stoneflies are often nocturnal, spending the day resting on stones and other platforms. [BM] {PF}
