This Australian butterfly has a wingspan of 175 mm. The dark wings are marked by metallic green strips. This magnificent butterfly is protected. However, about 125,000 specimens are legally exported every year. The Rajah Brooke's Birdwing is found in virgin rainforests and breeds specifically on "Aristolochia" species of plants. [BM] {EB}
