Atlantis fritillaries butterflies are easily recognized by their strong orange colours with black markings. The wingspan reaching an average of 67mm makes this species the largest and most common of the fritillaries. The female is usually larger then the male. Found throughout all of North America, they habitat open areas and breed only on several species of violets. [BM] {EB}
