Honeybee
(Order Hymenoptera Family Apidae)
Honey bees are common, widely distributed insects, although only one species is found in North
America. In North America most honey bees nest in man made nests. However, groups of bees that
escape commonly nest in the hollows of trees. The honeycomb is a structure created by the bees which houses
the eggs, pollen and honey. It is from the honeycomb that honey is extracted for consumption. MORE!
