(Order Hymenoptera Family Halictidae)
Within the family halictidae there are some 3300 species of bees in North America alone. The
different groups of bees are primarily distinguished by their tongues and wings. Bee tongues are
generally hard to observe as they are kept folded tightly on the underside of the head when they are
