Rhinoceros Beetle
(Order Coleoptera Family Scarabaeidae)
The rhinoceros beetle is dark brown and is usually just
over 1 inch in length. The male rhinoceros beetle is characterized by two large horns on its head. The
group of insects to which the rhinoceros beetle belongs contains some of the largest beetles found
in North America. The rhinoceros beetle is specifically found in the eastern part of North America.
This insect is known to occasionally cause damage to crops.
