Centipede
Centipedes have elongated, slender rather worm-like bodies. They are very similar to millipedes,
found in the class Diplopoda. However, the centipede has a flatter body. Centipedes generally have 15
or more pair of legs. Each pair of legs is attached to its own body segment. The species of centipede
common to North America range from several mm to 6 inches. This species found in Arizona is known as
a giant desert centipede. MORE!
