HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Fishing Spider

Several different species of fishing spider are found by streams and ponds. Some can be found in forests removed from any still waters. Males range from 7 to 13 mm with females slightly larger in size from 15 to 26 mm. This North American insect can submerge in water and remain submerged and motionless for 30 minutes. The fishing spider manages to breath underwater, relying on air trapped in their body hair. Fishing spiders eat small insects, tadpoles and little fish. [BM] {AU}
