White Feather Duster Worm
These segmented, marine worms live in long tubes constructed by a mixture of mucus
and mud. From the opening of the tube, the worm extends finely divided tentacles that are
attached in 2 groups, on each side of its head. These multicolored tentacles are used for feeding and
breathing. If the worm feels threatened the feather duster tentacles are quickly retracted into the tube.
