Leeches 2
Most species of leech are terrestrial or freshwater, while a minority are marine or parasitic. Those leeches which
are aquatic feed on blood or eat small animals including snails, worms and insects. Leeches acquire blood by attaching
to a host with strong suckers. A small Y-shaped incision is made and an anticoagulent prohibits the blood from
clotting as blood flow increases. MORE!
