Stomach
The human stomach generally resembles a curved sack,
but can vary in size and shape according to the
individual. An average adult stomach can hold about 1.5L
of material. The stomach secretes gastric juices which
helps to digest food. Food in the form of bolus
chewed, and softened, enters the stomach from the
esophagus, through a hole near the
heart, and exits into
the small intestine.
