Mounting Climbing Part 8
The climber
tries to keep three points of contact
(ie. two hands and a foot) with the rock; rarely does
a
climber jump. For safety, a rock climber
uses rope, artificial anchor and carabineer, (A
snap link that can be attached to an
anchor and the rope passed through). The third phase of
mountaineering is snow and ice technique, using
ropes and sets of steel spikes attached to
the boots,
called crampons. MORE!
