Luge Sleds
The luge sled can weigh up to 22.7 kg (50 lb). The sled uses
advanced
aerodynamic
design to reduce air resistance. Luge competitors themselves strive to
improve
their speed by
reducing air resistance created by their bodies. Starting from a
sittingposition, the competitor
leans back as soon as the luge speeds up. Luges are steered
as the
competitor applies pressure
on the runners with their legs and shoulders. MORE!
