Jujutsu 2
Jujutsu developed in India from Buddhist
military techniques.
Eventually the
art reached Japan, becoming an important part of samurai
training during the
Kamakura period
(1185-1333 AD). Warriors learned jujutsu so they could
defend themselves
empty-handed
against armed enemies. For this reason, the techniques were
designed to
disable, cripple, or
kill. BACK
