Javelin

Javelin is an event in which a spear is thrown for distance. It was one of the five events included in the pentathlon in the ancient Greek Olympics. In modern competition the javelin is made of wood or metal with a sharp metal point on one end. For the men's competition the javelin must be at least 260 cm long and have a weight of 800 grams.
