Hang Gliding
Hang gliding, the
sport of flying, was made popular in
the United States in the 1970's. The hang glider, which
looks like a large kite, is made of a synthetic fabric.
This triangular sail is attached to
a light aluminum
frame that is about 9.8 m (32") wide. The pilot of the
glider is suspended
from the apparatus by a harness,
steering and regulating the speed of the craft using a
control bar. MORE!
