When the Olympic Games were abandoned in the year 393AD, the sporting events surrounding gymnastics ceased to exist. It was during the 18th and 19th Centuries that it returned. Gymnastics today can almost fully be attributed to a German man named Friedrich Jahn. Jahn invented many of the exercises and equipment, such as the horizontal and parallel bars and the rings. MORE!
