The rod used in fly fishing is 7 to 10 feet long. A variation of dry fly fishing is wet fly fishing. In wet fly fishing the fly is placed just below the surface of the water. The third method of fishing is known as bait casting. The only difference between bait casting and spin casting is the length of the rod. The former is 5 to 6 feet long, the later 7 to 10 feet long.
