Discus 2
The modern technique of
throwing a discus usually involves about one and one-
half turns, to
build up speed, until
the discus is released. The discus remains in the hand,
pressed
against the wrist, until
it is released and slung out. For the mens competition
the discus
may not be lighter then 2 kg; for women's
competition, which was included in the Olympics in
1928, a 1 kg discus is used.
