recreation and a competitive event.
Canoes and kayaks developed in several
places around
the world. For example, in the Caribbean Island, the
Carib Indians created
seagoing dugouts by hollowing out
and shaping large tree trunks, while in North America
several Indian tribes fastened birch bark
