In 1923 it was recognized as an organized sport with the founding of the Federation Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT). One year later, in 1924, it was included as a sport in the Winter Olympics, held that year in France. In international competition the bobrun is at least 1500 m long with a slope of 8-15%, with 15 to 20 turns, some of which may be as extreme as a 180 degree hairpin turn. MORE! [BM] {NR}
