The spectators at a bobsled competition will see the sleigh pass like a coloured bullet, humming across the ice covered surface, travelling around curves steadily dropping as it travels down the incline. This speed sport began in 1890 in Switzerland, distinct from its sister sport tobogganing. In 1898 the first bobsledding competition was held, again in Switzerland. MORE! [BM] {NR}
