The first such race was Southeastern Utah's Eco-Challenge in April,
1995.
Fifty teams
from the United States, England, Australia, France, South Africa, New
Zealand,
and Canada
traveled 370 miles by canoe, mountain bike, white water raft, horse, their
feet,
and climbing
