These wilderness expedition races are based on the
multisport endurance
races popular in 1980s New Zealand. In the competition, teams complete a
series of
back-to-back back-country races with the aim of finishing first, and as a
team. Typical
races
include a whitewater component, climbing challenge, running, mountain
biking, and
