PILGRIMAGE To summarise the Islamic faith let us consider the five "pillars of Islam": Firstly, to legally become a Muslim one must simply utter a testimony (called the shaha da) before a witness. The shaha da is as follows: "There is no God but God and Mohammed is the Apostle of God." Secondly, the Islamic people have a strong prayer routine. The ritualistic Muslim will pray no less then five times daily. Kneeling down, facing Mecca, the birthplace of their prophet Mohammed, they will pray at dawn, noon, afternoon, sundown and evening.
