Lao-tzu decided to leave the Province. As the old man reached the border he was recognized by the Guardian of the Border. The Guardian of the Border refused to let the Old Philosopher pass until he had written down his philosophies. So in that very spot Lao-tzu sat down and wrote the Tao-Teh-King (The Book of Sacred Reason and Virtue). This small 25 page book is all we have from this great philosopher.
