This church, also known as Christian Scientists, follow the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910). Founded in Boston in 1879, one of the primary sourcebooks of this church is "Science and Health with a Key to the Scriptures", written by Eddy. Christian Scientists maintain that illness and adversities exist only in the mind and that each individual has the power to conquer sickness through disciplined spiritual thinking.
