STATUE OF LUTHER The Lutheran Church was founded by the German reformer Martin Luther (1483-1546). Being discontent with the Roman Church in Europe because of corruption among the clergy and the use of Latin in religious ceremonies, Luther went about reforming the situation. He believed in preaching in the native tongue of the group being addressed and the marriage of clergy members. This statue of Martin Luther is found in Wittenberg, Germany. MORE! [BM] {VA}
