The Latter Rain revival took place in the Great Smoky Mountains in the United States, led by R.G. Spurling and his sons, who were Baptist, and W.F. Bryant, who was Methodist. From this revival arose the Christian Union. The members were to rename the church several years later, in 1902, to the Holiness Church, and then again in 1907 to the Church of God. Splits have continued to occur within the Church of God. [BM] {ED}
