Bulgaria through a break with Rome in 1054AD.
The Orthodox church in Bulgaria was
administered by the patriarch of Constantinople through a Greek clergy, as the Bulgarians
were under Turkish rule.
By the end of the 18th Century the people of Bulgaria struggled for
