Roman Mythology 2
Roman rituals were performed, on behalf of the whole
community, to ensure the favour of the gods. In the earliest known period of Roman mythology, the
7th Century, the Romans had several high Gods. Like the Greek god Zeus, the Romans had a supreme god (Jupiter).
Relevant to this agrarian society, Jupiter was the god of sky and weather. Other
early gods included Mars, Quirinus and the goddess to supervise over the lives of women, Juno. This
is the temple of Roman dieties Jupiter, Juno and Minerva in Tunisia. MORE!
