The Egyptian religion is preserved in the written symbols, known as hieroglyphics, which line the pyramids in that region. The oldest body of sacred literature in the ancient world is found in the Pyramid Texts, which date back to 3000BC. The Egyptian religion is a written tradition, not an oral tradition.
