Anu
Anu was the supreme god of the Babylonians. He was the ruler of the universe, and the god
of the heavens. This meant he could not appear on earth because he was always on his throne in
heaven. He was seen as the father of all other gods and goddesses, and he served as both their
protector, and their judge. His parents were Anshar and Kishar, the original ancestors of all the gods.
