He was the god of storms and floods. While he was partly an angry god who threw
thunderbolts to earth, and was responsible for winds and storms, his worshippers thought he
could also be kind. The main way he expressed his concern for the people of Babylon was by causing the
rivers to overflow so the flood waters brought fertility to the land of his followers.
