HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Agnosticism 2
The unintelligibility and irrational nature of religion which seems to move against the grain of rational, scientific society causes many to question it. To some, such as the atheist or agnostic, it is not sufficient to say that there is a mystery to God. To live a life devoid of a belief in God does not mean that life is meaningless as some philosophers have claimed (Pascal/Dostoyevsky). Whether one believes in the existence of God or not, torture for fun is vile, while self-respect, love and friendship are good. Such things remain desirable and life can have meaning even in a godless world. [BM] {ED}
