Supreme Being

In some African tribes it is criminal to kill an animal for fear of the gods. There are reported cases of torture to the point of death for the crime of killing a snake. On the other hand, the Supreme Being was not very personalized in the African religion. Unlike religions such as Judaism and Christianity which speak directly to God using such phrases as "Our Father", the African people believed that a god so great as the Supreme Being would have no interest in the affairs of a singular human being.
