In 1990 militant Muslims held the Prime Minister & many others in Parliment. The govenment was seized for 5 days until peace was restored through the promise of reforms. At the time Aurthur Robinson from Aurthur Robinson's National Alliance for Reconsturction was in power. In 1991 Carson Charles, from the People's National Movement, was elected Prime Minister. In 1992 Charles granted the Muslim militants amnesty in hope of preserving the peace. [BM] {UA}
