Recent Malaysia

Malaysia was occupied by the Japanese in 1942. After WWII the Malay states organized into a federation. In 1957 the Federation of Malay became independent. In 1963 the nation expanded to include Singapore, North Borneo & Sarawak. Singapore was to become an independent nation several years later. Malaysia is ruled by a coalition government & shows strong economic growth.
