During the 1970's the Soviet Union began to supply arms to Iraq. Iraq's accumulation of arms has caused international concern. Under the leadership of Saddam Hussein, Iraq has been at war with Iran & with Kuwait. Under Hussein the Iraqi military have used poison gas against Kurd's living within Iraq. Hussein remains in absolute control of Iraq--a war-torn country. This destroyed Iraqi tank is lit by a backdrop of burning oil wells in Kuwait. [BM] {UA}
