Homo Habilis
Homo Habilis, emerging 500,000 years
ago, was only 5 feet in height and weighed less than modern day humans.
Even so, with a
cranial capacity of about 680ml,
Homo Habilis had a big brain and could modify his
environment to make life easier for himself.
He could take a stone previously used for
crushing, chip the rock down to form an edge
and cut the tough flesh of his prey.
