Modern Kenya

After WWII the British granted the African population greater control of government. Soon after, from 1952-1959, Kenya was in a state of emergency as the African people fought against British colonial rule. This rebellion known as the "Mau Mau" rebellion was a success for the African people as they were given greater political authority.
