Through the efforts of Napolean most of Germany was conquered by France during the 19th century. Battle for control of the German territory continued until the end of the 19th century when Otto von Bismark became the chancellor of the new German Empire established by the Prussians. The German Empire flourished until WWI. Many beautiful castles can be found throughout Germany as evidence of German wealth & power. [BM] {UA}
