Modern Equatorial Guinea
In 1959
the area now known as Equatorial Guinea became a province of Spain.
Spain invested in the
development of the area and this Spanish territory
flourished and became the most prosperous
in West Africa.
Equatorial Guinea gained full independence in 1968.
