HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Medieval Yemen

In ancient times Yemen was known as Sheba or Saba. Beginning in Biblical times, Yemen controlled much of the caravan trade in gold & spices from Africa & India to the Middle East. In the 7th century, with the spread of Islam, Yemen was incorporated into Arabia. As a result of Arabian control, Yemen experienced 3 centuries or unrest until a line of Yemeni kings, who were also imams of the Zaidi sect of Islam, came into power in the 10th century. [BM] {UA}
